| One thing id say about Danielle is that whenever she is in a room she is guarenteed to have the highest IQ of anyone in it. Unfortunately her inability to concentrate & no support makes school v difficult & she is no where near where she should be. She does well on maths still, despite all, but english is a problem. School were supposed to be assessing her for Dyslexia at the end of the last school year, dont think anything has been done yet though. Im loath to pressure the headteacher too much as she takes it as a personal insult & digs her heels in further. It makes me so cross. She should be doing her job & ensuring every child reaches their potential, not moaning & blocking attempts to help a child. I think she regards me a bad parent trying to excuse my poorly behaved childs behaviour. She seems to forget I also have Melissa who is an absolute Angel at school & in top sets for all. BLOODY WOMAN!! No wonder kids are leaving our school in droves.. | |

| Its quite common with ADHD children to have dyslexia or Dyscalculia apparently. Im pretty sure I have Dyscalculia myself, but im ok at english. It actually amazes me the amount of people who cannot use basic english nowadays yet gained exams. Surely to & too & their there & they're is basic 7 year old english? or am I just a pedant? | |

| I quite agree Tracy! I used to work with a lot of temps and none of them could write a letter to save their lives. Joshua is great with numbers but really struggles with his reading & writing - he has been tested for dyslexia but is going to be tested again hopefully - there's a lot of it in our family XX | |

| Thought I'd pick up an old thread. Josh is really bright when it comes to answering orally but refuses to put pen to paper to record his answers. He says it is boring and so just refuses. He just can't concentrate. They have just had assesment weeks in school and he has come out pretty much bottom of the class. All they go on is whats written down, they don't take into account what he actually knows. It's so annoying when I know how bright he is. They also just accept that he refuses and so he gets away with it. Fed up with his school at the moment, I mean for god sake he came home with one shoe today and they did nothing about it!! | |

| I couldn't help laughing at first, I mean for god sake 1 shoe!!! But then got mad cos he's only had them 3 weeks and school just weren't bothered about helping to find it! They rally are rubbish. We did look at putting him into a private school. they were really good. Josh is the youngest in his year, august birthday, so they said we could hold him back a year to give him a better advantage. just couldn't afford the fees. Still thinking about it though. | |

| Well we've bought new shoes, I may staple them to his feet!!! Got Josh's school report on Friday, he is really behind in Maths and writing. Ahead in Science and IT. He loves facts though and needs to know everything. I was pretty happy with his report though, it was actually better than I thought it would be! I need to have more faith!! | |
