| Hi thought I would write in here, I dont know if its the right bit to post in, if its wrong, sorry, plz feel free to move or delete. My son's paediatrician thinks that he might be Adhd but doesnt want to put a diagnosis to him yet as he is 4 1/2. Which is fine with me, but I just want to ask if the following behaviour is adhd or ? or just a typical boy. Theres something going on lately but I just dont know what. His brother has severe renal problems, specialists thought that he would have to have a transplant by now. So as you can imagine we are very much back and forward from hospitals.
I have asked day care and they say that he is his usual stuff, minus the self harm. He does have verbal and oral dyspraxia but can sign and say what he can to get his message across, of course this isnt always clear. This is when I assume him to play up as he cant communicate his want.
Brenden will hit his head on the floor or his knee, and scratches his face or legs, happens when he is frustrated or when i have said no Stealing even though he does acknowledge that its not his and shouldnt take it, he will steal whatever the item is again in under 5mins and he will always say sorry. Will hide things. Jumps through open windows (ok could shut them but its 30C inside!!!) but i do lock the front and back doors as he will be out and has no road sense, i have talked and talked about looking for cars blah blah
Just doesnt respond well to instructions will have to prompt him, it is like he forgets halfway through Will lash out at other kids, has hit the staff at day care, stomps, screams, has put a hole in the wall already Does not like change of our routine, i try to keep the rountine the same and give him constant reminders of what we are doing and if its a change will tell him several times before getting in the car Of course has the hyper behaviour, can not focus on a task, wilfully damages things like cutting circles in the sofa cover, throwing things.
He took his shorts and underwear off and peed in his bedroom, tonight, he has been toliet trained during the day since he was 3. This is what made me want to ask other people their experiences Very picky with food but some of that stems from the dyspraxia
Please help, any advice? he is driving me barmy, I always talk to him about whatever has happened and asked him why and explain the reason behind things i dont want him to do and when I have had enough and want to smack him, he has to sit in the kitchen for a couple of minutes and i go away to generally to calm down. If Im doing it wrong please say and tell me what exactly i should be doing.
