I have grown up with a diagnosis of epilepsy and the reason given for my learning problems was the seizures and the drugs that I take to control the seizures. Only recently, did I find out the real reason for my learning problems after the results of an educational psychologists test confirmed that I have dyspraxia and dyslexia.
I went to College at the age of 36 and received an Access to Higher education certificate in social science and then I went to University where I graduated with a 2.2 BA Hons degree in politics and sociology
As a child I attended a special needs school, which I loved but which I believe was really holding me back. I believe that when I was a child special needs schools were looked on as a respite service. I compared my education against my brother and two sisters and there were major discrepancies with their curriculum and mine
